Kappelshamn
Kappelshamn was a main point for the development of stone industry. From the beginning of the 1600s to the end of the 19th century limestone ovens were built for local consumption as well as for industrial use.

During this time there were four export lime stone ovens along the shore at Kappelshamn bay. The four ovens exported more limestone then anywhere else on Gotland.

In 1986 the shipping lists tells us that limestone and quick lime was exported to Wismar, Copenhagen, Danzig, Bornholm, Lübeck, Stockholm and Hudiksvall. Read More on: www.kappelshamn.se.

Straa
Limestone is shipped from this port, which is situated in Faroesund in the north part of Gotland.
